Makeup Bag

Makeup is becoming a little bit of a luxury on a daily basis now that I am looking after my little baby girl but I have some firm favourites and awesome products so I thought it would be fun to share with you what I have been reaching for so I decided to write this post about what’s in my makeup bag.

Base

For my base product I have been loving the Bare Minerals Tinted Hydrating Gel Cream. I don’t like my base products to be heavy at all. Rather, I like to enhance my natural skin and so reach for products that are radiance boosting and light weight. I really like the Bare Minerals Tinted Hydrating Gel Cream as it is super moisturising, gives light coverage and yet adds a beautiful dewy glow. Great especially on this morning’s where my skin is looking a little lacklustre from a sleepless nights.

Concealer

Concealer is a must in my makeup bag. If I am in a rush, I will slap on a little concealer and mascara and run out of the door and so I like to have a very brightening concealer for under the eyes and a high coverage creamy concealer for the rest of my face to hide any other pesky little blemishes. The Maybelline Eye Eraser has been a great addition to my makeup bag to cover under circles and for the rest of my face my ultimate favourite concealer is Chanel’s Correcteur Perfection Concealer as it is ultra creamy and yet is very pigmented.

Eyeliner

I am a liquid liner gal and have two liners I have been reaching for depending on how subtle or statement I want my liner to be. The L’Oreal Super Liner is wonderful for creating a lovely thin line that is close to the lashes as it has a fine felt tip nib that is flexible allowing it to bend appropriately to the contours of the eyelid. The other liner I have been loving is the Eyeko Skinny Liquid Liner. The Eyeko liner has a slightly thicker nib compared to the L’Oreal liner and it certainly packs a punch in terms of it’s pigment. It is ultra black and lasts a long time which is wonderful. Both liners therefore have a firm place in my makeup bag depending on the look I am hoping to achieve that day.

Eyeshadow

A recent find of mine is the Morphe Natural Beauty eyeshadow palette. The eyeshadows are incredibly buttery and so blend very easily and yet last a long time. I am a girl that likes a natural look and so when I came across this palette named natural beauty I couldn’t help but add it to my basket. It certainly lives up to my expectations and has been my go to for a quick and easy natural eyeshadow look. The palette itself has a good mix of shimmers and mattes allowing you to create a variety of different neutral eyeshadow looks.

Mascara

I am a little fickle when it comes to mascara and I am not loyal to one brand. I love to experiment with different mascaras as I like a mascara to do it all (volume and length). Therefore, I have four that I am switching between. The L’Oreal False Lash Sculpt (great for thick voluminous lashes), Maxfactor False Lash Epic (ultra defining and lengthening), Maybelline the Falsies (volumising and lenghthening) and YSL Effet Faux Cils (my favourite of the bunch as it is both lenghthening, defining and volumising).

Blush

For blush I have been loving using the Milani Illuminating Face Powder. This is a gorgeous powder made up of a myriad of pinks, browns and champagnes which when swirled together add a beautifully natural flush when applied to the cheeks and a gorgeous radiance due to the powders illuminosity.

Bronzer

Now this is probably no surprise as the bronzer I have fallen for is a favourite amongst many bloggers. I didn’t purchase it for a while as I didn’t want to believe the hype but I soon gave in as I became to intrigued and yes the bronzer in question is the famous Hoola Bronzer by Benefit. This bronzer is wonderful as it is matte and so can be used to contour but also provide a really natural colour to the high points of the face for a very natural sun kissed look.

Lips

For lips, I have been reaching for the Laura Mercier Paint Wash liquid lipstick in Petal Pink. This is a very creamy liquid lipstick that is so comfortable on the lips and isn’t drying. I love the colour petal pink as it adds a subtle colour but still looks gorgeously natural at the same time but seems to brighten the complexion.

Highlighter

Now the crowning glory of my makeup bag is the most beautiful highlighter from Becca Hill. It is literally like gold dust being applied to the cheeks. It is the Becca Hill Shimmering Skin Perfector in Moonstone. I like to apply this to the tops of my cheek bones, across my brow bone, the bridge of my nose and my cupids bow. It is so so gorgeous and gives you that lit from within glow making your skin look really healthy. I absolutely love it and recommend to get your hands on it as soon as possible if you haven’t tried it before. I am sure you wouldn’t be disappointed.

Have you tried any of these products? What are your current makeup bag essentials?
